OSCAR Support
Commercial Support
OSCAR is a free, open source product, and has a variety of companies and individuals supporting it. You are free to 'do it yourself' but this requires in depth understanding of server administration and security. There are a number of companies who can do this for you. OSCAR maintenance and support are provided by OSCAR Support Providers (OSPs). OSPs make sure that your OSCAR system is up to date, they are private companies and function independently of the OSCAR Canada Users Society (OCUS).
Find out about the OSPs
Potential clients of these companies should research them to ensure they are happy with their choices. Ways to do that research include, asking for references and joining the OSCAR UserGroup email discussion list to ask other OSCAR users about their experiences.
OSCAR Support Providers are listed alphabetically: Open Health Software Solutions Inc. Peaceworks Computer Consulting Inc. Wertheimer Computer Works Inc., Montreal, Quebec These are private companies that are known to OSCAR Canada User's Society. They function independently of the Society. Most of these companies provide installation services and you can also purchase an OSCARA (OSCAR appliance - a server and backup device/server with OSCAR already installed and configured for you) from some of them. An OSCARA is designed as an 'out of the box' solution for OSCAR installation. You may also like to (we recommend) get ongoing support and training from one of the OSCAR Service Providers. Security and reliability of your OSCAR system should be paramount in your plans. Support forums / Mailing Lists
