Getting Involved

Who can install and use CAISI? Anyone who wants to provide integrated care can install and use CAISI to do so, including: * Individual providers * Clinics, shelters, and other service agencies, with satellites and/or outreach services * Community health centres * Groups of individuals, agencies, and centres. Who can contribute to the creation of CAISI? Anyone can be a co-developer in the CAISI project!

The Open Development approach used to create the CAISI system and software means that the program can be  in continual development and implementation, and that front-line agencies, staff, and their clients, can directly contribute to the ongoing creation of the program, by working alongside CAISI Project staff. Once recommendations are made by users, clients, allies, and volunteers, Project staff discuss and explore the suggestions, make and test feasible changes, and deploy changes to re-start this feedback process.

There are a number of ways you can get involved:

Become a CAISI Partner Agency

Any organization that provides care to those who are homeless can become a CAISI partner agency. To help document your interest and involvement, it helps to provide a letter describing your interest in participation with the CAISI project. For a sample letter go to Image:Letter of endorsement generic Draft 1.docAgency Participation can vary from using CAISI as your internal Case Management System, to using CAISI along with other local agencies, to integrate care for your homeless clients by accessing their information on the Internet, making referrals, and facilitating discharge planning.

Become a CAISI User

Any agency staff person providing front-line care for someone who is homeless can become a CAISI user. Contact  the CAISI team to learn how to access the CAISI system to improve care for your homeless client. We would be pleased to present the project and all of its features to you, your colleagues, and your agency director.

Become a CAISI Client Contributor

Any person who is currently homeless, or was formerly homeless, can be a client contributor and can give feedback individually, or as a member of the Client Advisory Board. CAISI is dedicated to including those who have experiences with the health and shelter systems, in the building of CAISI. CAISI has a number of positions for clients to contribute to the project. Check out the Current Positions for Clients and contact the Project Team & Project Management about joining the CAISI team.

Become a CAISI Advisor or Ally

Any person who has an interest in the project or who has a particular skill or knowledge set to share with the project, can become a co-developer by joining one of the CAISI Advisory Boards.

Become a CAISI Staff Member, Intern, or Volunteer
