OSCARMcMaster 2.2 has completed the Validation Execution of CMS Specification 2.0 successfully!!!
- It happened during the week of January 21 – January 24, 2008 at OntarioMD. The official notification for certification should be forthcoming pending on some additional paper work. Congratulations to Jay and Ronnie of the McMaster OSCAR Team. This represents almost 6 months of hard work. The key components of Specification 2.0 include the prevention module and the importing and exporting standardized information. It's a big step toward interoperability between different vendor products. We are very proud to be the the first product that completed it.

- OSCAR-CAISI is the Silver Award Winner in the Category of "Efficiency and Operational Improvements – Not For Profit" in the Canadian Information Productivity Award 2007 (http://cipa.ca/). CIPA is a celebration of IT and innovation implementation excellence in all types of organizations across the country. A CIPA award constitutes the highest form of recognition for the capabilities of an organization and its executives.

The First National OSCAR User Group Meeting was held in Winnipeg at the Family Medicine Forum on October 13, 2007
- At this first national OSCAR user group meeting, current users had theNational OSCAR Usergroup meeting 2007 Winnipeg opportunity to meet other users and OSCAR's development team. They learned about new features and how to use OSCAR to their best advantage. The group worked by consensus to make decisions about future development. People interested in becoming OSCAR users were welcome to attend and see how the OSCAR community works together.

- The BC OSCAR User Group invites you to come and hear about Free / Open Source software and how physicians are driving the OSCAR Open Source Electronic Medical Record in BC. There will be a presentation by Dr David Chan, OSCAR’s founder, and the OSCAR user community in BC. OSCAR is a web-based electronic medical record system currently deployed in a number of clinics both in Canada and around the world. OSCAR software has no licensing costs and allows the user to choose who provides maintenance and support to their system.
