2011 BC User Group Meeting May 29-30

BC OSCAR User Group Meeting 2011: Sunday May 29 and Monday May 30 in Vancouver at the Paetzold Auditorium at VGH

The agenda for the BC OSCAR user group meeting has been finalized. We have 2 very exciting days planned. This meeting is for OSCAR users, MOAs, office managers, support providers, practitioners interested in using OSCAR and anyone else who wants to learn more about Canada’s coolest EMR! We expect this to be the largest gathering of OSCAR users to date!

STEP 2:  To complete and confirm your registration you will need to pay the registration fee of $40 for one day, or $80 for both days per person. The fee is payable to the Oscar Canada Users Society, and is intended to cover the cost of hosting and catering. We've made this wonderfully easy for you (and for us) by setting up secure online payment viaPayPal. You don't have to set up your own PayPal account. You can simply pay by credit card.

Agenda highlights

Sunday May 29th will have Jay Gallagher, Lead Developer from OSCAR McMaster, showing us all the new programming for 10/11 including the new inbox, signing prescriptions on a touch pad, forms for specialists, changes to the echart and referral system and the new prescription module. There will be time to ask questions. You will see a bunch of cool new tools built by OSCAR users and learn some tips and tricks from seasoned OSCAR users. There will be a keynote talk about Connecting Care with OSCAR looking at approaches to data aggregation and integration for clinical care, research and improving health systems. For fun there will be the annual OSCAR awards and lots of opportunities to network!

Sunday afternoon there will be a separate meeting for OSCAR MOAs.

Monday May 30  will be a series of concurrent in-depth workshops for those who want to really learn more about different OSCAR functions. There will be sessions for OSCAR beginners and advanced OSCAR users. There is a hands-on session on building eforms in OSCAR and a workshop on OSCAR billing. There will also be an introductory session on the Ubuntu operating system if you want to go open source with your work stations and have had enough of Bill Gates!

Monday afternoon there will be a meeting for support providers.

On the evening on Monday May 30th there will be a demo of OSCAR for our colleagues who want to learn more about OSCAR-spread the word. The invitation is attached. (There is no charge to attend the demo and registration can be done at a separate link on the demo invitation.)
