Notice of RFP Release and Proponent Information Briefing
OMA e-Services Inc (ONTARIOMD), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Ontario
Medical Association (OMA), is a company focused on providing tools products
and services to physicians so that they can increase their efficiency,
reduce their costs, and enrich patient care in Ontario. Through ONTARIOMD,
the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) and the OMA are
working collaboratively on the development of a comprehensive IT solution
serving Ontario physicians.
The Physician IT Program is managed by ONTARIOMD for the Ministry of Health
and Long-Term Care. As part of the Program, ONTARIOMD has entered into an
agreement with one case management system (CMS) provider on an Application
Service Provider (ASP) model.
In January 2007 ONTARIOMD plans to release a Request for Proposals on MERX
for the provision of additional CMS ASP products. The deliverables will
include:
1. a CMS using an ASP model, and supporting practice management and
clinical management standards of the Physician IT Program;
2. procurement, installation and support of server hardware;
3. data centre (server) operations and management of the CMS Application
Service;
4. procurement, installation and support of client-side hardware, software
and operating system;
5. procurement and installation of local area networks;
6. training of Subscriber staff;
7. province-wide Tier 1 and Tier 2 Support for all Respondent-supplied
products and services;
8. province-wide Tier 1 Support for other Physician IT Program services to
the Respondent’s Subscribers; and
9. other related services.
The RFP process will include a Proponent Information Briefing. The briefing
is intended for information purposes only and will not be used to qualify
proponents.
RFP Proponent Information Briefing
The date of the briefing is expected to be 10 days after the release of the
RFP on MERX. The briefing will be held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The
purpose of the briefing will be to provide potential proponents with a
high-level overview of the ASP CMS approach, and to give potential
proponents an opportunity to submit questions to ONTARIOMD.
Interested parties should monitor the MERX website for additional
information relating to this proposed procurement.
