OSCAR WISH-LIST


•    PRESCRIPTION MODULE:
•    update drug database
•    have drug name & dose searchable
•    directions to be typed in rather than windows
•    have “smart memory” for typing of drug directions
•    get rid of excessive clicking when you want to print
•    develop functioning drug interaction program
•    have options from drug list: represcribe, change, & delete drug
•    have options to: print, print & paste, paste only
•    have option to: paste into med list
•    ?colour code for pasting into e-record?
•    DOCUMENT SECTION:
•    have tabs for: consultations; laboratory; radiology; other
•    have tabs viewable from e-chart rather than having to click on documents
•    have scanned info show up for review by MD (as labs do) and have it linked automatically to the pt's chart (so you can view scanned items from general list OR from pt's record)
•    have documents listed with following headers:
Consultations: service, specialist, date of visit, additional comments
Radiology: test, date of visit, additional comments
Laboratory: see lab module
Misc: description, date, additional comments
•    Have option to acknowledge, & acknowledge with comment
•    LAB MODULE:
•    have labs shown chronologically on same screen (as per MacMedical)
•    the above suggestion should eliminate multiple downloads saved in chart.
•    Give option to delete current labs or scanned info from chart
•    have options: acknowledge, acknowledge with comment (with option to link to other provider, eg nurse for orders – ideally with option to set default) – currently, comment box comes up automatically, this should be eliminated.
•    Have lab module always be connected to chart so that when you click on lab, have it open as a small window on the pt's chart automatically.
•     Graph/table capability for labs with dates (lower priority).

•    MESSAGING SYSTEM:
•    The link at the bottom of messages is being dropped when messages are either forwarded or replied.
•    Have messages regarding patients automatically associate with that patient's chart (e.g., like a sticky note on record) so you can see both simultaneously (i.e., have message open as a window on pt's chart)
•    It would be nice to be able to set up files to save e-mails, and delete out the unnecessary messages.
•    An option to print e-mails.
•    Have folder system like outlook express (e.g. Inbox, Sent messages, Saved Messages, Deleted Messages) & be able to delete message from delete folder
•    Eliminate automatic copy of message into pt record when you open chart link.
•   
•    Notation when someone has read a message.


•    CONSULTATION MODULE:
•    include “past medical hx” from pt profile. 
•    Also have the text that automatically appears from pt profile stretch to fill the width of the consultations note
•    ability to type in a consultant name that is not in list
•   
•    PATIENT RECORD:
•    make dates in pt record more noticable
•    somehow indicate when an e-chart is open on another computer
•    in pt record, have the full width of screen appear so that there is no need to scroll horizontally in order to access vertical scroll bars.
•    Separate areas for the AHP's notes, particularly the existing ones (sw/fmt, dietitian)
•    have ability for each individual to make their own templates which only appear on their own computer (so that you do not have to scroll down 9 MD's different ones)
•    have special forms (e.g., INR, Diabetes forms) appear automatically on pt record if saved (e.g., have a small section in the chart where they are visible automatically)
•    fix dm form so that it complies with billing requirement for k030 code but easy for md
•    fix rourke and growth charts so that they are easier, graphing for rourke record
•    increase memory for pt record
•    Save automatically with entries, should not have to press save every time
•    For problem list, should show window to size of entries (ie. Expands as problem list expands)
•    Do not automatically time and date stamp chart – should have option to enter (eg ctl n) so that when we enter information not related to a visit (e.g., lab notation), it will be dated.  Similarly, if we change the problem list, then it will not be stamped dated.
•    graph capability for bps, inrs, etc ?with ability to show meds at each time
•    GENERAL STUFF:
•    allow multiple windows open at same time in an e-chart (e.g., bmi calculator screen open and lab result open at same time)
•    Get rid of excessive clicking for everything.
•    From search option, to default into chart of pt if only one comes up.
•    Simplify MD pt notes (E-forms) section (again, have MD have option to show only notes that he/she wants, not all so we don't have to scroll down a big list)
•    ability to toggle to charts (family members)
•    ability to send and receive faxes directly into oscar
•    SPECIFIC CONCERNS:
•    Joe's lab tab doesn't turn black even after all labs have been acknowledged
•    Some CML labs are not being down-loaded, timing is variable.
•    Dr. Arya's address is Waterloo, not kitchener


•    ALLERGY MODULE:
•    have NKDA as option
•    have custom drugs as option
•    show all; should not have to open window to see all drugs
•    link with rxn module
•    simplify search option
•    have drug listed with comment box, eliminate current: severity, speed of onset

−    lab, & document section are HIGH PRIORITY
−    reinforce for Glenda that we need labs to be matched by HC number to reduce mismatches. (MDS needs to be done)
